Discover Grizzly Bears Bus Tour with Lunch from Banff
Meet Boo, a grizzly bear with paws the size of hubcaps, a mouth full of sharp teeth and enormous muscles moving beneath his shaggy fur. He saunters slowly through his 20-acre habitat in the Rocky Mountain bush, allowing you to watch him explore, hunt and forage just like his wild cousins. You'll also hear his personal story and learn about grizzly bear behaviour during your visit to the largest enclosed grizzly bear habitat in the world.
The tour includes stops at gorgeous Takakkaw Falls (the second highest waterfall in Canada!) and stunning Emerald Lake. You'll also take a gondola ride up to the top of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to enjoy lunch with a view at the highest restaurant in Canada.
This tour has a guaranteed grizzly bear sighting or your next tour is free.

COVID-19 Protocols Updates
- Register and submit your travel, contact, proof of vaccination and (if required) quarantine information on ArriveCAN using the ArriveCAN mobile app or through the online portal within 72 hours of your planned arrival in the province of Alberta. Partially and non-vaccinated travelers - and fully vaccinated travelers selected for random testing - must follow instructions given upon arrival for completing a COVID test.
Please Note
- All children ages 15 years and under must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian.
- Infants (5 and under) are free of charge, but this does not include any food.
- A Child Safety Seat is required for all children 6 years of age. You must bring your own child safety seat and it will be your responsibility to install the car seat at the starting location for the tour. Children under age 6 who are free on the tour must ride on the lap of a paying adult.
- Photo ID may be required for identity verification.
- This tour requires a minimum of 4 total participants to operate, so you will be asked to call the day prior to confirm the tour.
- Early and late season bookings may be subject to itinerary changes. Takakkaw Falls Road opens late June and tours in early June will include stops at the Spiral Tunnels and the Natural Bridge instead.
- This tour involves some walking. At every stop you will have the opportunity to get off the bus and stretch your legs and all of the viewpoints are a short walk.
- Guests almost always see the orphaned grizzly Boo on this tour. Although Boo is generally always out to foraging or playing in his refuge, there is a rare chance he may not be visible when you visit. You can take the tour again for free to see Boo.
- You will view Boo from outside the fence of his refuge. Depending where Boo is in his refuge, you may be as close as 5 meters away! Or he may be much further away from the fence. Boo is a wild animal and you may not touch or feed him. A ranger is always present to answer any questions and talk to you about Boo and Grizzly Bears.
- This tour is not wheelchair-accessible.
